Ron Soonieus

Ron advises senior management on sustainable business strategies, governance and leadership and has developed specific expertise on the role of the board in sustainablity and long term value creation. Ron also works with management teams and boards to evaluate and advance their performance and has a track record in navigating team conflicts towards solutions.

As Executive in Residence at INSEAD Ron leads a research project on ‘the role of the board on sustainablity’ in cooperation with the INSEAD Corporate Governance Centre and the Hoffmann Global Institute for Business and Society. In addition Ron teaches sustainability in the INSEAD International Directors Programme and has given guest lectures at a variety of institutions including the universities of Amsterdam, Groningen and Edinburgh. He has contributed to books and written articles in media such as the (Dutch) Financial Times, Insead Knowledge, the Radix think tank, and Board Agenda.

Ron has extensive experience in leadership gained through roles in the executive management and boards of public and privately-owned companies throughout Europe, Middle East, India, United States and South America. He has served organizations in a variety of industries including financial services, private equity, high tech, manufacturing, ICT, professional services and various non-profit institutions.

He studied international management and business administration at the University of Huddersfield (United Kingdom) and INSEAD (France), and is an alumnus of the INSEAD Non-executive directors programme.

He is a founding partner at Camunico, an Executive in Residence at INSEAD, and a member of the board of the Royal Academy of Art and the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague.
