Friends, Radix followers, countrymen, lend me your ears
I come to bury May not to praise her
The evil that men or women do lives after them
The good is oft interred with their bones
So let it be with May. The noble Johnson
Hath told you that May was incompetent
If it were so, it was a grevious fault,
And greviously hath May answer’d it
With no leave from Johnson and the rest –
For Johnson is an honourable man
So are they all honourable men
Many will speak at May’s funeral…
…O judgement, thou art fled to brutish beasts
(with apologies to the bard)
